1. Olympiacos FC

The Greek giants are arguably the biggest club in the land, boasting of a vociferous large fan base. Apart from their league titles, Olympiacos has also won a record 28 Greek Cup titles. They haven’t done as well on the continent. Their best-ever showing was in the 1998-1999 season of the UEFA Champions League when they reached the quarterfinals.

2. Panathinaikos FC
The Shamrock are one of the oldest and most successful club sides in Greece. They were founded on 3rd February 1908. The Greens have won the Greek league title the second most number of times with 20 titles currently under their belt. They have also won the Greek Cup an impressive 18 times. Just like their rivals Olympiacos the Athens-based club hasn’t won anything on the continent but have come the closest. They finished runners-up in the 1971 European Cup.
3. AEK Athens
The Yellow-Blacks are based in the Greek capital city of Athens. They were founded 97 years ago on 13th April. Despite the dominance of the Big two clubs in Greece, Enosis has done relatively well in trying to break the duopoly of Olympiacos and Panathinaikos. AEK has been able to win the league on 12 occasions. However, they have been more successful in the Greek Cup, which they have won 15 times. They have also pushed their weight in European club competitions. Their best outing was a semifinal spot in the 1976-1977 season of the UEFA Cup.
The all-time top scorer of the Greek Super League is Thomas Mavros (260 goals) played for AEK Athens.
4. PAOK FC
This modest club was founded on 20th April 1926. Despite being in the shadow of the bigger clubs, the White-Blacks have been able to record some measure of success. They have won the league 3 times and also clinched the Greek Cup on 8 occasions. They have competed several times in UEFA club competitions.
5. Aris Thessaloniki
Aris was founded 107 years ago on 25th March. Thessaloniki were a bit dominant in the first few years after they were established, winning the Greek league 3 times between the 1920s and 1940s. They also competed in and won several Macedonian championships.
