However, a few famous footballers have donned the number at some point in their footballing careers, whether for their club or country.

Here are some of the top famous footballers who wore the number 27 Jersey.

1. Robbie Fowler

The Liverpool legend was one of the Reds’ greatest goal scorers in history before moving to English Premier League rivals Leeds United in 2001.

While at Elland Road Fowler, wore the number 27 jersey for the two seasons he was there.

In 30 appearances, Robbie was able to net a respectable 14 league goals before the financial crisis bedeviling the Yorkshire club, which then forced him to leave in 2003.

2. Bojan Krkic

The former FC Barcelona forward at a time was supposed to be the next great thing at Camp Nou.

Bojan wore the number 27 jersey during his debut season with the Catalan in 2007.

He excelled during that campaign, scoring 10 league goals in 31 appearances.

While at Barcelona, Krkic won 3 league titles, a single Copa del Rey, and two UEFA Champions League titles before finally leaving the Spanish giants in 2011.

3. Kevin-Prince Boateng

The former Ghanaian international played for a couple of seasons for Italian side AC Milan between 2010-2013.

While with the Rossoneri Boateng wore the number 27 and enjoyed some great seasons at the San Siro, winning the Scudetto title with Milan in the 2010-2011 campaign.

Kevin-Prince famously entertained the AC Milan fans with a Michael Jackson dance routine to celebrate his club’s league triumph.

4. Gary Neville

The former Manchester United right-back wore the number 27 jersey for a couple of seasons after making his senior team debut in 1992.

The Old Trafford legend appeared 400 times for the English giants in the Premier League, scoring 5 goals across 19 seasons.

In that time Neville was able to win a ton of trophies with the Red Devils.

This includes 8 EPL titles, 3 FA Cups, 2 League Cups as well as 2 UEFA Champions League trophies.

Gary was a one-man club who stayed in Manchester throughout his career until his retirement in 2011.

5. David Alaba

The talented and versatile Austrian defender wore the number 27 jersey during his 12 seasons with Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.

Alaba played for the German Bundesliga Champions between 2009-2021, winning a bucket load of trophies along the way.

The 29-year-old won 10 Bundesliga titles, 6 DFB Pokals, and 2 UEFA Champions League titles while at the Allianz Arena.

David scored 33 goals in 431 appearances for Bayern.

He eventually moved to Real Madrid, but was unable to get his favorite shirt number, so he settled for number 4.

6. Emmanuel Eboué

The Ivorian fullback wore the jersey number 27 for Arsenal for seven years.

He also wore the number 27 for three years at Galatasaray.

He was a combative defender, as played a key role in Arsenal’s triumphs.

7. Lucas Moura

The skillful Brazilian winger has been a mainstay for Tottenham Hotspurs, since on joined them in the 2017/18 season.

He was donned the jersey number 27 for Tottenham since that time.

In fact, Lucas Moura is one of the few footballers that currently wear the number 27 jersey.

8. Divock Origi (AC Milan)

He moved to AC Milan in the summer and was handed the number 27 jersey making ten Serie A appearances and four in the UEFA Champions League.
