1. Pablo Sarabria (Sporting CP) – €67,000 per week
The Spanish international is currently on loan from French side Paris Saint Germain to Portuguese side Sporting CP. The 29-year-old is an accomplished attacking midfielder who has an eye for goal. It is reported that Pablo earns about €67000 weekly making him one of the highest earners in the Portuguese league. His wages are, however, paid by his parent French club. Nonetheless, he will be hoping to give his best for Sporting CP as they play in the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League this season.
2. Julian Weigl (Benfica) – €48,000 per week
The German international who joined Benfica last year is said to be the highest earner at the club. Julian is reported to earn in the region of €48,000 on a weekly basis. The defensive midfielder played 28 league games for the Dragons in the last campaign. Weigl was also named in the final German squad for the 2020 Euros played recently but didn’t feature in any match before Germany’s exit in the second round.
3. Everton Sousa Soares (Benfica) – €40,000 per week
Everton is a 25-year-old Brazilian international who plays for Portuguese giants SL Benfica. The winger is one of the highest earners at the club as he is reported to earn about €40,000 weekly. Since his transfer to Benfica, the Brazil striker has featured in 34 league games with 7 goals to his name. He also played 8 times in the Europa League with only one goal registered to his name.
4. Otavio (FC Porto) – €40,000 per week
The Portuguese attacking midfielder is one of the highest earners at Portuguese giants FC Porto. The 26-year-old is reported to also earn about €40,000. The Brazilian-born Portugal international joined Porto in 2014. Otavio has featured in 123 league games scoring 11 times. He helped his club to claim two Primeira Liga titles in the 2017-2018 and 2019-2020 seasons. He was also named into the Primeira Liga team of the year for the 2019-2020 campaign.
5. Joao Mario (Benfica) – €38,000 per week
The Portuguese international, who recently just joined Benfica, played on loan last season at Sporting Lisbon CP on loan from the Italian side Inter Milan. Joao is said to earn €38,000 weekly at Benfica. Mario was a key member of the Sporting CP team that claimed their first title in almost 20 years. He scored 2 league goals in 28 games. In the 2021 summer transfer window, the 28-year-old signed Benfica after Inter were unable to reach an agreement for his permanent sale with Sporting CP.
