The “Real,” meaning royal in Spanish, was bestowed to the club by King Alfonso XIII in 1920. You can find out other football clubs that have “Real” in their names.

The Los Blancos, as they are called, have had a long-lasting relationship with the color white all their history, and it won’t change anytime soon.

Leeds United are one of the clubs that took their white home kits inspiration from Real Madrid in 1960.

Honestly, Leeds United have always taken a cue from other clubs for their shirt colors.

In Leeds’ first 15 years, the club kit was modeled on Huddersfield Town’s blue and white striped shirts, white shorts, and dark blue socks, no thanks to then Huddersfield’s chairman Hilton Crowther’s plans to merge both teams.

The club changed to royal blue in the 1950s with white and yellow as alternate before getting inspired by Real Madrid’s success in the 60s to fully switch to white jerseys with gold stripes while retaining the royal blue for the away kit.

3. Tottenham

Arsenal’s biggest rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also one of the biggest sides who dorn the white kit, but that’s not how the North Londoners started their life as a club.

The club’s first color was navy blue and then changed to a bicolor like Blackburn’s pattern with navy blue and white in 1884 after Rovers won the FA Cup.

At some point in 1898/99, Spurs wore red, but afterward, they changed to the white they are used to up till today, even earning the Lily-white tag name also. Tottenham hardly deviates from their white tops and navy blue shorts in the modern era.
