The new Bundesliga season is about to start with its intense competition and rivalries. Many players distinguished themselves last season with exceptional displays throughout the campaign.

1. Thomas Muller
The FC Bayern Munich midfielder returned to form in this past campaign. Under Coach Hans Flick the German international had one of his best seasons for the Bavarian giants. In the league, Muller finished with a season-high 21 assists while scoring 8 goals as well. This saw him named into the Bundesliga team of the season. This impressive performance also helped his club claim another historic treble as they won the league, German cup and UEFA Champions League respectively.
2. Emil Forsberg
The Swedish international had another year impressing in the colors of RB Leipzig. The 28-year-old was fantastic this past season scoring so many times as well as providing crucia assists. The attacking midfielder’s fine displays saw him lead Leipzig to a semifinal finish at the 2019/20 Champions League. He was also been linked to other clubs during the transfer window. He made a lot of key passes, and displayed his playmaking abilities for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
3. Joshua Kimmich
Another Bayern Munich player who makes this list. Kimmich was the engine that kept the Bavarians engine ticking along nicely. Unshakeable in possession, the young German international provided the platform for Bayern in the middle of the park. Giving them the leeway to hurt teams with devastating effect from various attacking forays, Kimmich’s performances didn’t go unnoticed as he was also named into the Bundesliga team of the season. Almost at the peak of his power, Kimmich will be hoping for another domineering season. He was recently awarded as the best defender by UEFA, but could use easily won as a midfielder. He is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.
4. Christopher Nkunku
The young Frenchman had an impressive debut season in this past campaign for RB Leipzig. Nkunku laid on 13 assists as well as scoring 5 goals to leave his mark on the 2019/20 campaign. The 22-year old will be hoping for an even better season not just for himself but for his club as they go in search of their first top-flight silverware.
5. Filip Kostic
The Serbian was impressive this past season for Eintracht Frankfurt. The 27-year old provided a team-high 11 assists to help his team finish 9th on the league. Filip is one other player to watch out for this season as we await its commencement. He has gradually risen to become one of the top midfielders in the German League
