The UEFA Super Cup is an annual football match that is contested by the winners of the two major European club competitions, the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

Over the years, the Supercup promises to be entertaining and an end-to-end battle. This one won’t be an exception. Tonight Real Madrid faces Eintracht frankfurt. The 2022 UEFA Super Cup will be held in the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Finland.

In this article, we will analyze the two teams.

Coach

Carlo Ancelotti Stylish Football Managers

The Real Madrid manager, Carlos Ancellotti, has been proving his place as one of the best and biggest managers of all time. The Italian is not just one of the top football coaches in the world but is also one of the most stylish football managers.

He is known for his counterattack style of play and decision-making, ready to present a sensational performance.

The Eintracht frankfurt manager, Oliver Glasner, is an Austrian professional football coach. In May 2021, Eintracht Frankfurt revealed that Glasner had agreed to be the head coach on a three-year deal until 30 June 2024.

The start at Frankfurt was challenging. Despite the challenges, he managed to pull Frankfurt into the Europa League, defeating Fc Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou in the quarter-finals, then winning the trophy.

Formation

Real Madrid operates with a 4-3-3 formation. Four defenders, three midfielders, and three attackers consisting of two wingers and a striker, with Karim Benzema leading the attack. This formation gives them width and depth.

Eintracht Frankfurt operates with a 3-4-3. Three defenders, four midfielders, consisting of two defensive midfielders and two fullbacks, and three attackers. This formation helps them press the opposition team.

Tactics

In recent years, Real Madrid has seen a massive spike in attacking numbers in the first couple of months due to their intensity-based style of play. The functions of the entire system are built on intensity & aggression and are entirely dependent on expression in the final third to create chances as opposed to patterns of play.

Carlo Ancelotti’s sides have always been about glitz and glamour. They play an intense, fluid-attacking football instead of shapes, structures, or rigid pattern-based system of football.

They have always been about defending on the front foot with aggression and outscoring the opposition. His Real Madrid team is no different; they love to win the ball back and are excellent in progression, defending, pressing, and creating chances.

So Ancelotti teams are often on a huge boom at the start of the season. The trouble starts when the intensity of his teams decreases due to a variety of different reasons, be it squad depth, fatigue due to schedule conflicts, squad profiles, etc. And also, this real Madrid side absorbs the pressure from the opposition team, calmly on the ball without making careless mistakes, as in the final against Liverpool.

Eintracht Frankfurt plays a more attacking german fast football, stretching the field and utilizing positional movement patterns to unlock the opposition team, with more high intense pressing from the attack. The fullbacks act as extra wingers to increase the attack.

A remarkable goalkeeping performance is enough to win a game or lose. One defining moment from the man in gloves can prove to be the difference in a crucial game.

Thibaut Courtois goalkeeper has been more influential than Real Madrid shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois who led the Los Blancos to the La Liga and UEFA Champions League double.

His exceptional goalkeeping was on full display in the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool in May, where he was voted man of the match.

Kevin Trapp is another top goalkeeper who regularly features in the Bundesliga. The 32-year-old has been with Eintracht Frankfurt for about 3 years. He is a great shot-stopper and will be crucial in the game.

Trapp had a decent season helping Eintracht Frankfurt win the Europa League.

The German international is definitely one of the best goalkeepers in the German League.

Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt will have all to play for in the 2022 UEFA Super Cup. It is the first European trophy of the season, and both teams will battle to the end for the title.
