Some soccer stars in this North American league earn huge amounts of money for their football services. Today we take a look at some of the best-paid players in the MLS.

1. Carlos Vela (Los Angeles FC) – $6.3 million a year

The former Arsenal FC and Real Sociedad striker is hands down the highest earner in the MLS. The 32-year-old joined Los Angeles FC in 2017. The Mexican forward is said to take home a staggering $6.3 million annually playing for Franchise side Los Angeles FC. Vela has done his best to repay that huge fee. He has scored 57 goals in 87 league appearances for the Black and Gold.

2. Javier Hernández (LA Galaxy) – $6 million a year

Next on our list is Mexican legendary attacker Chicarito. The former Manchester United and West Ham has found a home in America’s top soccer league competition. The Mexico international plays for California-based side LA Galaxy FC. The 33-year-old is reported to collect $6 million yearly playing for Galaxy. Despite his age, he has still been one of the best performers for his club. He has so far scored 12 goals in 22 appearances.

3. Gonzalo Higuain (Inter Miami) – $5.7 million a year

The prolific Argentinian is another one of the highest earners in the league. The former Juventus, Real Madrid, and Chelsea forward is said to receive $5.7 million annually playing for franchise team Inter Miami FC. Higuain has so far scored 9 goals for the Florida-based club.

4. Alejandro Pozuelo Melero (Toronto FC) – $4.6 million a year

Pozuelo is currently on the books of MLS side Toronto FC. The Spanish attacking midfielder is the highest earner at the taking home a reported $4.6 million dollars yearly. Alejandro justified his wages by helping his club win the Eastern Conference Championship playoffs in 2019. He has scored 22 goals in 66 appearances for the Canadian-based team.

5. Josef Martinez (Atlanta United) – $3.8 million a year

The Venezuelan international is doing very well for himself in the MLS. The 28-year-old striker is said to be paid $3.8 million every year playing for Atlanta United. Josef has continued to demonstrate that he is good value for money as he is the leading scorer for his club over the past few seasons. Martinez has racked up an impressive 78 goals in 95 appearances for his club, helping them win the MLS Cup in 2018.
