5 Youngest Ever Goalscorers in the History of Bundesliga

The German top football division the Bundesliga has produced an array of young goal scorers over the years. The latest entrant Norwegian Erling Haaland announced himself to German football after netting a hattrick on debut for his club Borussia Dortmund. The striker scored at just 19 years, 5 months, and 28 days to register his name as one of the league’s youngest-ever scorers. Haaland, however, just missed out on making the youngest ever goal scorer’s list.

The Bayern Munich player currently holds the record as the youngest ever German Bundesliga goal scorer at 18 years, 6 months, and 26 days. The Dutch-Nigerian striker achieved this feat on December 18th, 2019, when he scored the 3rd goal in his side’s 3-1 away win over SC Freiburg. The youngster has also scored another against VfL Wolfsburg to take his tally to two so far for the season.

2. Alphonso Davies

Alphonso is another Bayern Munich player and is second on the all-time youngest ever goal scorer’s list. The fullback who has dual Canadian and American citizenship recorded this milestone at the age of 18 years, 9 months, and 29 days. The young left-back achieved this feat on August 31st, 2019, scoring in his side’s 6-1 rout of FSV Mainz 05.

3. Rabbi Matondo

The young FC Schalke 04 right-winger makes it number 3 on the list. The Welsh international scored at the age of 19 years and 19 days in a 3-1 away victory over RB Leipzig. This he achieved on September 28th, 2019.

4. Paolo Henrique Sampaio Filho

The young Brazilian, also known as Paulinho, is number 4 on the list. The Bayer 04 Leverkusen left-winger set the milestone on November 10th, 2019. He achieved this at the age of 19 years, 3 months and 26 days when he scored for his club in their 2-0 away win over Wolfsburg.

5. Jaden Sancho

Jadon Sancho

The young English attacking midfield sensation is the 5th player on the list. The Borussia Dortmund player scored against FC Ausburg at the age of 19 years, 4 months, and 23 days. This was during his club’s 5-1 thrashing of Ausburg played on August 17th, 2019.

Considering the number and level of talent emerging daily in the German top tier, it will be a matter of time before a new talent emerges breaking records in the process.4
