Austrian giants, Red Bull Salzburg, announced the signing of Nigerian youngster Samson Tijani on Thursday, the 16th of July 2020. Tijani signed a five-year contract running till the 31st of May 2025.

He was born as Samson Okikiola Tijani on the 17th of May 2002 in Lagos, Nigeria.
He came into prominence when he captained the Nigerian U-17 team to the African U-17 Cup of Nations and the FIFA U-17 World in 2019.
He led the team to the semifinals of the U-17 AFCON in Tanzania and the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil — where he scored 2 goals and played every minute.
Tijani is a defensive midfielder who possesses long-range passing, vision, technique and likes dominating his opponents in the middle of the park with his work rate.
He joined RB Salzburg from Lagos-based football academy, Collins Edwin Sports Club. He was being like to Club Briggs, but RB Salzburg were quick to snap up the promising youngster.
He is being managed by Wonder Sports football agency who boasts of many Nigerians like Michael Babatunde (Wydad Casablanca), Tom Dele-Bashiru (Watford) Ikouwem Utin (Maccabi Haifa) among their numerous clients across different countries.
Over the last few years, RB Salzburg have become famous for being a great platform for youngsters to launch their careers with the likes of Sadio Mane, Erling Haaland, Naby Keita, Diadie Samassekou and Takumi Minamino going on to achieve success in their respective careers. Nigerian football enthusiasts will be hopeful that Tijani will emulate the aforementioned players in his career going forward while also being an integral player for the Super Eagles (Nigerian senior team).
