Paul Ebere Onuachu is a Nigerian International player. The 26-year old was born in May 28, 1994. Paul plays as a striker for both his club KRC Genk and country Nigeria. His style of play is reminiscent of old-fashioned forwards who dominate in the opposition’s 18-yard box. Decent with both feet, the Owerri born forward is also very good in the air, which is not surprising given his 6-foot 7 inches height. Paul started his career back home in Nigeria. The gangling striker first began with Nigerian 3rd tier side FC Ebedei as a youth team player. His impressive performances with the Ogun state-based outfit earned him a move overseas, joining Danish top-flight club FC Midtjylland in 2012.

Onuachu spent about 7 seasons with the Danish Champions scoring 74 goals in 181 matches for The Wolves, winning 2 league titles and a cup. He also spent some time on loan at Danish side Vejle Boldklub. He featured 13 times for the Jutland based club, scoring 5 goals.

After a successful stint in Denmark, Paul was signed by Belgian top side Genk for 6 million euros in August of 2019. Onuachu’s goal scoring exploits have not abated since his move to the Jupiler Pro League. The 26-year old scored 10 goals in 29 matches to mark a fair debut season. He has already flown out of the blocks in this years’ campaign equaling his total goal tally for last season with only 12 games played so far in the ongoing season.

Paul’s first stint with the Nigerian national teams began in 2015 when he was called up to the Under-23s. He would later earn the first of his 8 senior national team caps when Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr invited him for the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles. Paul would later score his first goal for the Super Eagles in his second match, a friendly game against Egypt. The goal, a spectacular volley in the first few seconds of the match, entered the record books as the fastest goal scored by a Nigerian player in an international game, proving ultimately to be the match-winner. Onuachu was later named in the Nigerian squad that eventually won a bronze medal at the 2019 AFCON hosted by Egypt.
