Although many foreign players from all over the world have played in Scotland, only a handful of African players have played at Celtic FC in their long history.
The Scottish giants have signed African players, who have helped the club to win trophies.
Here are the best African players to play for Celtic.
1. Bobo Baldé
The French-born Guinean defender is one of the greatest African players to play at Celtic Park. Baldé joined Celtic from Toulouse on 21 July 2001 and made 232 league appearances for the Hoops. Baldé was named the Celtic Player of The Year for 2003. He is regarded as one of the best foreign players to play in Scotland.
2. Victor Wanyama
Victor Wanyama became the first-ever Kenyan player to score in the UEFA Champions League when he played for Celtic. The imposing midfielder scored the first goal in Celtic’s historic 2–1 win over Barcelona in 2012. He made 61 league appearances for Celtic, scoring 10 goals. The Kenyan was also one of the most expensive players sold by Celtic, as he signed for Premier League club Southampton for £12.5 million in 2013.

Efe Ambrose is the only Nigerian player to play for Celtic, but undoubtedly one of the best African players who played there. Ambrose joined Celtic from Israeli Premier League club FC Ashdod in 2012. The defender made 113 league appearances for Celtic and scored 5 goals.
