Many players who can trace their origin to Canada have opted to play for other countries over the years. Players like Owen Hargreaves and Jonathan de Guzman could just as easily represent the senior Canadian national team the Canucks. There are a lot of football players could still represent the North American country. However, today, let’s find out some soccer players who could play for Canada.

The British Columbia native has only one official senior game under his belt, for his parent club Vancouver Whitecaps. A debut match against Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy played on November 8, 2020.

Luke has so far made only 6 senior appearances for the Reds during this 2021 season with a single goal to his name.

Kamron is a young prospect who was originally born in Uzbekistan to Afghan parents. Habibullah’s parents emigrated to Canada when he was just two in 2005. He later joined the Vancouver Whitecaps academy, where he honed his skills before graduating to the senior team in 2021. The forward has played eight times for the Canadian under 17s and scored three goals.
4. Cristian Gutiérrez
The 24-year-old left-back was originally a Chilean youth international despite being born in Quebec, Canada. Cristian recently completed his switch to represent Canada after filing his papers with the world football governing body FIFA. He was later called up to the Canadian senior national team for the preliminary list for the Gold Cup in June 2021 but missed out on the final 23-man list. Gutiérrez currently plays for MLS side Whitecaps.
