After a gruelling football campaign, the 2019/20 Bundesliga season came to an end, and the 2020/21 Bundesliga season is set to begin soon. Who are the newly promoted Bundesliga teams for the 2020/2021 season?

The 57th season of Germany’s premier football competition began on 16 August 2019 and concluded on 27 June 2020, with Bayern Munich defending their title. They also won their record-extending 8th consecutive title and 30th title in all. The relegated teams of the 2019/20 Bundesliga season were Fortuna Düsseldorf and SC Paderborn, who finished 17th and 18th, respectively. The relegation playoff involved 16th placed team Werder Bremen, and third-placed 2. Bundesliga, team 1. FC Heidenheim. Werder Bremen won on away goals and therefore remained in the Bundesliga.

DSC Arminia Bielefeld is a German football club from Bielefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, and they won the 2019/20 2. Bundesliga with 68 points, ten points above second-placed VfB Stuttgart.

Arminia Bielefeld was founded over a century ago in 1905 and currently play in their home stadium, Bielefelder Alm, which has a capacity of 26,515.

In their 115-year history, Arminia Bielefeld has played 17 seasons in the Bundesliga. Their most successful years were the 1920s, the early 1980s, and the middle 2000s. They have win the 2. Bundesliga four times (1977/78, 1979/80, 1998/99, and 2019/20).

The team has a large number of loyal supporters, with thousands of spectators known to attend their matches, even when they played in 3. Bundesliga.

Arminia Bielefeld are being coached by a 60-year-old retired German player, Uwe Neuhaus. He took charge of the club in 2018 and guided them to the 2. Bundesliga title.

Stuttgart is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany. The club based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, and was founded in 1893.

They finished second in the 2019/20 2. Bundesliga season with 58 points and had a pretty mixed campaign. The club plays at the 60,449-capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena and will be competing in the German top-flight for the 60th time.

VfB Stuttgart are one of the most successful football clubs in Germany. They have won the German Bundesliga five times, the 2. Bundesliga two times, the German Cup once, the DFB-Pokal three times, and the UEFA Intertoto Cup a record three times.

The current head coach of VfB Stuttgart is Pellegrino Matarazzo. The Italian-American coach took over the reins at the club in December 2019 and had an immediate impact on the team.

VfB Stuttgart will be hoping to make an improved return to the 2020/21 Bundesliga season. They have to improve their defence if they are to remain in the Bundesliga next season.
