Biography
Until recently, Emmanuel has been relatively unknown in Nigerian football circles. The 22-year-old has represented Nigeria in a couple of age-grade teams, namely under 15s and under 23s. He got his first invitation to the senior national team, the Super Eagles, in 2019. Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr invited the young winger for an International friendly game against Ukraine played on September 10th, 2019. Dennis officially made his debut in that match coming on as a second-half substitute in the 80th minute of the game, which finished 2-2 apiece. Emmanuel first started playing football in his home town when he joined local Abuja Academy side Accademia di Abuja. From there, he crossed to Europe joining the Ukrainian Premier League club side FC Zorya Luhansk in March 2016. He spent only a season with the Ukrainian side before making the step up joining Belgian top-flight outfit Club Brugge KV. So far, he has scored 28 goals in 103 appearances for the Blue and Blacks. The most impressive of which a Champions League match against Spanish giants Real Madrid at the Bernabeu, where Dennis scored twice to help his side claim an unlikely 2-2 draw. His team were declared as the Champions of the Belgian First Division, after the league was halted due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
