English Premier League leaders Liverpool have been relentless so far this 2019/2020 Premier League season. The Merseysiders have so far been an unstoppable juggernaut conquering all the teams they have faced in the league till present.

Unless a collapse of cataclysmic proportions occurs, it is safe to say that the Premier League Title is to all intents and purposes heading back to Liverpool after an agonizing 30-year wait. However, the rampaging Reds are far from content with just winning the league and will be aiming to break multiple records along the way to make their league success the more satisfying.

Already the Jurgen Klopp led team has the record for the most consecutive home wins in the EPL having amassed an intimidating 21 straight league victories in front of the Anfield faithful between this and last season. It will be a brave man who will bet against them breaking more this season.

Here are five records Liverpool could also break this season:

1. Most points amassed in a single premier league season

Liverpool at the moment has been able to gather a formidable 73 points from 25 games played so far this season. They will surely have in their sights the record set by Manchester City FC in the 2017/2018 season when Pep Guardiola team amassed a monstrous 100 points from 38 games. Barely two seasons on the record looks under threat and with the way the Reds have been winning games week after week. It seems possible that it’s not only the title that Pep will be losing to Klopp when the season finally concludes.

2. Most consecutive wins in the Premier League

There is another record held by Manchester City under threat from Liverpool. The Mancs record 18 wins look in imminent threat of being broken by the Reds. The European Champion’s next three games against relegation strugglers Norwich City FC, West Ham FC and Watford FC on paper at least look winnable which should see Liverpool bag a new winning record.

3. Most home wins in a season

In the premier league era, three teams share the record of most home wins (18) for a single season. Chelsea FC (2004/2005), Manchester United FC (2010/2011) and Manchester City (2011/2012), (2017/2018). With five home games left after 13 wins Liverpool will be confident of going one better this season.

4. Most away wins in a season

Liverpool are also aiming for another Manchester City record. This time the number of away wins recorded in a single season. The Reds will be pushing hard to match if not surpass Manchester City’s feat of the 2017/2018 season when they won an impressive 16 games away from home.

5. Longest unbeaten run in English League football

Liverpool are currently 42 games unbeaten stretching from last season and have the record set by Arsenal FC firmly in their sights. The Gunners unbeaten season record though a bit far of looks a possibility, however, it’s the ‘’Invincibles’’ record of 49 games unbeaten that looks under serious threat. With 8 games to play and a favourable fixture list ahead Liverpool will be optimistic of pushing Arsenal of their perch.
